Linked urban villas in a green public passage

The cramped Putstraat becomes a parklike passage between the Nieuwstraat and the forest behind the plot. The 38 new houses perfectly match the surrounding fabric and building height and at the same time minimize the need for elevators. The result is a compact series of urban villa’s consisting of different housing types. The all sided oriented volumes with set back private terraces make for a lively image.

The building on the Nieuwstraat has its own appearance and is set back in a garden. The green break gives some breathing space to the street in front.

By solving most of the parking underground there is space for a car free public space with lots of space for green and to meet.

Status: Environmetal permit granted
Collaboration:  2DVW Architecten (JDWA+RDVA)
Client: Goed Wonen Rupelstreek
Location: Rumst, BE
Program: 37 appartments and 49 underground parkingspaces
